Ed & Lois’s 20th Wedding Anniversary Celebrations

On this trip we had a few special occasions to celebrate. Sasha’s 10th birthday in September, Ed’s 41st birthday in October and Ed and Lois’ 20th wedding anniversary on November 26.  Thanks to the well wishers who pointed out that it is “quite a milestone these days”!  Probably even more so when you spend almost every hour together for a 6 month+ trip!

We celebrated with booking a lovely day trip to Banff and Lake Louise, which was a guided tour (the first tour with a tour guide that we have done this trip!)  Was great and following the trip we walked around Banff, popping in and out of the shops to try and keep warm. We spotted a lovely tree of life sculpture (www.hoseltons.com) in a gallery (Lois spotted it as it looked a lot like her Career Wisdom logo) so nabbed that and decided we could argue later about whose suitcase it would go in.  (A 20th anniversary gift is supposed to be fine bone china,but we have plenty of that stacked in the sea container, hopefully still in one piece)

For dinner, we asked a few locals (the taxi driver and our apartment liaison person) what

would be the best restaurant. Both said “The Trough” so that was that.  What an unbelievable dinner – superb, one of the best meals on the trip thus far. Great ambience and wonderful staff.  Our compliments to the two (female) chefs.  www.thetrough.ca
